home for the summer

The Canadian spring weather that greeted me at the Toronto airport was cold–but then, that was back in early May. Today, I went out for what feels like my sixteenth walk and saw flowers cupping sunlight like overflowing goblets of hues. Afterward, I came back inside and scrolled through my mess of photos from my first year of college; now simply two semesters’ worth of memories in my phone. It feels good to be home and it’s going to feel even better to return to campus in August, the campus I’ve grown to love.

For now, I’m simply happy in my little cupboard under the stairs as Spring no. 2 blooms outside. I’ve recently discovered the roasted hazelnut cold brew at Tim Hortons and so far it seems like it will be my cup of joy for the rest of the summer–but we’ll see.
